Led the art direction for expanding BJ’s Wholesale Club’s social media presence and impact with content driven visuals.
About the project
Challenge
Despite BJ’s Wholesale Club having an extensive Brand Guide, it didn’t cover their social media platform and assets. Their social media presence lacked visuals that was striking and consistent on Instragram, Twitter, and Facebook. I was approached to strategize on how to further develop assets for their team to use.
Result
I developed a visual strategy for using their Brand Guide effectively to create consistent Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook posts, stories, and reels. New visuals (icons, templates, and stickers) were created for easy usage. Strategies for product styling and photography was also suggested to their BJ’s creative team.

Product Styling & Photography
Based on BJ’s Wholesale Club’s Brand Guide, I recommended styling products against their primary color palette (red, white, and black) as well as using their seasonal color palettes when appropriate. BJ’s products should be shot against color backdrops either straight on from the top and front for consistency.
Social Media Templates & Icons
I created templates for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter posts and stories strictly following their guidelines. Over 20+ post templates and 40+ story templates were created and compiled into an asset library. Created a versatile icon set: stroke widths are 3px so that it’s scalable.
Conclusion
With new a new social media strategy and visual assets available, BJ’s Wholesale Club creative team can ensure their brand is reinforced throughout all social media platforms.
